Hi everyone. I´m using this email because this other one doesn´t work very well. I hope everything is going good at home. It feels like it is so far away. Ok I only have ten minutes so here it goes
Thursday we had kind of a P-day since my comp didn´t really get one. But we still worked. That night he took me to visist some families. I don´t know the names yet but this one the mom is a member but the dad isn´t but he is very nice and welcomes us in/tells us to come over. It was funny the little girls who are 2 and 5 liked playing with me and were trying to speak to me. After a while the mom was like you need to speak very clearly and slow. Then the girl said is he a baby haha. It was fun she brought out a book and she would show me the picture and say what it was. Anyways that was fun.
Friday
We had a lunch appointment with a lady who had just been baptized a couple weeks ago. She has two little boys and one girl, the girl is like 9 so we are working with her to get her baptized. She had us make like this little noddle things, she didn´t know how to make them so it was sort of an experiement. They turned out alright. The kids really enjoyed playing with me, as all kids do haha, it took alot longer than we wanted to. Then we had a district/zone meeting that we took a taxi to. it was fun to meet all the missionaries in our zone. That night we went over to the old bishop´s house who is the brother in law of the lady we had lunch with. They also had kids that kept me busy while my comp talked with him about what is going on between the missionaries and the members. He told us that the missionaries before us weren´t doing very good things so the members lost trust in us. So we have to try to build that back up. We have so so so so so much work! They only have a %20 attendance rate here.
Sat
We went and visited a less active family in the morning then went to a lady´s house that use to work at the Lindon Care and Training center. It was fun to talk with her. O by the Way EVERYONE Loves the book Katie gave me of the pictures. After that we had lunch at one of the members of the Stake Pres. We had chicken and rise which was very good. Then we had a Stake Priesthood Meeting and one of the Seventy came to it, Elder Sivic. He chastized the leaders alot because there were a lot of the bishops and leaders that didn´t come. Then we came back and knocked doors, we do that alot.
Sun
We had stake conference, they had a meeting before the general one for new members and investigators. We took this boy named Jose who wants to get baptized. Then we had the general meeting and I met alot of the members. Then we came home. THE CIESTA IS SO SO SO DUMB!!! We can´t sleep and everyone else in the town is asleep so we walk around knocking doors getting yelled at for waking them up and try to talk to the one or two people outside. For dinner we went to a family´s house who just had 2 boys and 2 girls get baptized. One of the girls who is 19 is falling away already cause her boyfriend isn´t a very good influence on her. We need to work with her. We ate there did a few contacts on the way home and then went to sleep.
Sorry i don´t have more time im already over, PS Dear Elder still works so send me some of those to the mission home (all mail goes through there then gets sent to the district meetings)
Anyways I love everyone thanks for your letters, o mom yes we walk most places unless its to a meeting, a district, zone, stake, or mission meeting. I miss you all alot
Love
Elder Veenker

Last week in MTC
> Wow I can't believe we are leaving on Monday! I'm excited for things to be> different but at the same time I'm pretty nervous about the "unknown".This> past week has been pretty good. I've had a headache everyday since 2 weeks> ago yesterday so sometimes its hard to concentrate. Last Thurday night it> got so bad that I couldn't stay in class cause it made me feel like I was> going to Throw up so I went back to the room and slept. Friday I went tothe> Doctor again, this time it was a different doctor. I told him that theweek> before I had jumped up to block a volleyball and had a huge huge shooting> pain go through my neck(It pretty much brought me to my knees). I had told> the previous doctor this but he sorta just ignored it, But this doctor> started to feel my neck and he noticed one of the muscles was really tight> so he told me to schedule some appointments with the Physical Therapist.> That was when the lady called you dad, it was weird cause I could hear you> and everything but couldn't talk. Anyways my first appointment was Monday> and they did a bunch of stretches and stuff. Then they gave me some work> outs to do with it and stretches. It has really helped, not totally but> definitely better. Today was my second one and they did the same thingsbut> they also did the Electric Stimulizer thing too. They are just trying to> make the muscle bruise enough that it'll recover sooner. But ya not too> exciting except getting to go to the outside world haha, which sounds sort> of funny but it is so hard to be trapped inside all the time.> Wasn't Conference just AWESOME!!! We had to sit in the worst seats everbut> I didn't care I just focused on the talks and it made it so I didn'tnotice> the uncomfortable seats. Its amazing how all the talks can feel sopersonal> to so many different people! Last night we had Elder Wood from the Seventy> come talk to us (Only 1 talk from one of the 12 while I was here). He gave> an awesome talk, He gave it on lots of different things but what made it> different was he was a grad from Stanford and he made his talk really> knowledgale??? I don't know how to explain, but at the end he showed some> graphs that showed the growth in Tech, Population, And something else butit> started from the death of Christ and was pretty level then at about 1820> EVERYTHING Skyrocketed!(Amazing how it was that year huh?). He just talked> about how with the Light of Christ everything works so much better.>> Anyways I don't have much time, the doctor took up most of the day, So I> hope everything is going well. I hope everyone has a good time thisweekend> at Stephanie's pagent, Cheer Loud for me. I'm pretty excited to see Todd's> family this weekend, Hayden said they might come to lunch? My lunch starts> like at one so I'd like it if I could see you at lunch don't leaveSacrament> meeting till I'm there. I'm excited to talk to you on Monday I'd like if> everyone is coming over to the house or what but It'll be exciting to hear> from you. I'm excited for your Sign dad!> Love you all> Elder Veenker
Scott First Letter
Finally got my email account set up today. Wow what a week its so so sobusy> all the time. I hope you got my letter. I did send it the same day as Isent> Stephanie's the mail is just slower than slow. So I don't know where to> start. We wake up get ready usually have breakfast at like 7 am (WAY TOO> EARLY). Then we have class then gym usually around 10 or 10:30 dependingon> the day. Then we have lunch around 11:30 (All of our meals are on theearly> schedule). Then we have class again till 4:30. Then class again till 9:00.> Then we have a 30 min planning session with our companion. Every day is> alittle different and usually between one of the meals our teacher isn't> there so thats what they call MDT time and thats where we do personal,> companion, and Language study. We have ten missionaries in our district(All> Elders). We have two teachers that switch off they are Brother Nelson and> Brother Jefferies. They are both way awesome! I think I have learned morein> the past 7 days than I did in the whole 2 years of Spanish in High School.> Its amazing how you can learn with the help of the spirit. It is almost> overwellming cause I am not getting it as good as some of the others inthe> class so they seem like they just keep pulling away. I've been trying to> improve my pronounciation(Probably spelled that wrong) by reading out load> from the spanish Book of Mormon at least an hour a day during MDT. We went> to the temple this morning which was great. Sunday we got to go walk up to> it and that was just great to get out it feels like you're in a whole> different world inside here. I have the top bunk in my room and I think I> messed up my foot getting off of it one of the first days so I've likebeen> limping around. Dad call jen when you get this and tell her thanks a tonfor> the goodies and also tell her the way to get the Calculator to work is to> turn it on, push second and hold the up button till she starts seeing the> stuff come up. There are a few things that I would appreciate if you could> send me:> -Addresses for all the family (including Grandma)> -Birthdays of all the family> -At least one of my Leathermen (I need some type of tools I'm gonna go> crazy) they are in my wooden tool box in my room> -I need a copy of my mission call>> I think thats all for right now. We only get a half hour on the computersso> sometimes its going to be hard to read the emails and reply, good thing i> can type fast. Everyone is obsessed with the mail haha we check it likefour> times a day. Friday was awesome because Jen and Stephanie sent me packages> and I got your letter (dad) and another letter from Stephanie. Mom Ididn't> get your letter till yesterday. O AND GUESS WHAT! I have gained 7-10 lbs> from where I am normally at. So yes mom I am eating quite well. I haveseen> Brother Young a few times which is fun. I have also seen Elder Wall and> talked to him yesterday. I saw Braden on Sunday at dinner but thats theonly> time because his eating schedule is way different. I hope everything is> going well. Dad I hope you've figured out how to do the ebay stuff and> everything. I think its kinda funny that the snow is melting now haha. But> its weird I haven't really had too much time to think about things at home> or snowmobiling. Mom I'll try to make a copy of my schedule so you can see> exactly how it works. I am out of things to say so Dad I guess you can> compile this and send it to everyone if you wantI love you guys very much and thank you for raising me so well in this> gospel! Its true and amazing.>> Love, Elder Veenker
